Great Streets Initiative:
St. Paul Street Improvements

Client: City of Burlington, VT
Project Span: 2018-2019

The first phase of the Great Streets Initiative in downtown Burlington, VT is focused on the St. Paul Street roadway reconstruction which begins at the Main Street / St. Paul Street intersection and extends south along St. Paul Street  to a point approximately 50 feet south of the intersection with Maple Street. The project consists of the reconstruction, realignment and amenity upgrades of two blocks of St. Paul Street.

The street will be realigned to allow room for two lanes, two parallel parking lanes, tree belts and wider sidewalks.  Diagonal parking will be removed to make room for the new amenities.  For utilities, new storm water infrastructure, site lighting and power and communications will be placed underground, along with adjustments and realignments of several other utilities.  Full depth reconstruction will take place throughout the project limits.  New plantings, street lights, benches, signage, previous pavers, parking meters, bike racks and other public amenities will be installed.
